Group A - Matchday 3

FRANCE vs. SOUTH AFRICA 3-1 (1-1)

MEXICO vs. URUGUAY 0-0 (0-0)

It's about time to draw the line in Group A. Stop rubbing your eyes, France is indeed one tiny step away to its flight back to Europe, while South Africa might only leave the vuvuzelas further into the next stages to remind everybody who the hosts are. It is both Uruguay and Mexico that can split the fame with no concerns regarding the other match, a draw is what they need to walk into the Last 16 together.

France start was a bit too enthusiastic, and after Ribery's goal that could make a serious impact on the final table, South Africa's Mphala denied the advantage and brought the sides together again. Meanwhile Mexico and Uruguay stood still, staring at the golden draw. The European side of this group wouldn't give up and scored again twice after the break, with goals of Gignac and Gallas, while Blanco and Forlan were all smiles, exchanging t-shirts and cheering in front of the cameras after a not so outstanding goalless draw.
