Group D - Matchday 2

GERMANY - SERBIA 2-2 (1-0)

Both European teams were considered to be the favourites in Group C, but at least for one of them, results from Matchday 1 didn't confirm the rumors at all. Serbia had a very bad start, losing the fixture against the second hardest opponent, Ghana. It was then or never for Radomir Antic's boys. Germany, on the other side, made a flying start in the World Cup, hammering Australia with an uncontested 4-0, biggest score in the tournament till then.
This match proved to be different from what we've seen last week: Serbia much more motivated and Germany much more careless. Still their Polish strike force made their voices heard again, both Podolski and Klose scoring one each, while Stankovic and Krasic replied and gave a glimmer of hope to every Serbian supporter.
