Group H - Matchday 2

Spain vs. Honduras 3-0(1-0)

After the defeat against Switzerland this game against Honduras was vital for Spain's hopes of reaching the round 16 at the 2010 FIFA World Cup. With Chile already qualified from Group H after the win over the swiss team, Spain was desperately seeking for the 3 points.
In the other side there was still a lot of confidence and before the game Rueda declared that Honduras was "beaten by the best and most difficult team in the group (Chile)" not being impressed by the european champions.
Nevertheless, Honduras didn't succeed any surprise and couldn't resist the spanish which used a very attacking formula with Torres and Villa up front from the start of the game, and Cesc Fabregas in midfield. The final score was 3-0 for Spain after David Villa's double and Sergio Ramos's header from a corner executed by Navas, and Spain are now back in the race for the World Cup trophy.

MoM: David Villa
